Alexandra Hakim is a British-Lebanese jewellery maker, known for her innovative craftsmanship, thought-provoking designs and genuine dedication to sustainability. Her pieces have gained a cult international following and have featured in fashion shoots for Vogue Italia and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, been worn by the likes of Rihanna, and appeared on the pages of high-profile magazines including Elle USA, Marie Claire Italia and Madame Figaro.
Now based in Madrid, the designer first discovered her talent for jewellery while studying for an Art Foundation at Central Saint Martins in London. She went on to gain a BFA in Jewellery & Metalsmithing at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design, where she specialised in design innovation and developed her unique making process.
Alexandra Hakim launched her eponymous brand in Beirut Lebanon in 2016, and immediately made waves on the jewellery scene, infiltrating and gaining the respect of the predominantly male industry of craftsmen and goldsmiths thanks to her technical prowess and inspired methods.
With BEIT, Alexandra Hakim has expanded her expertise into product design, creating a series of artisan ashtrays that are wonderfully sculptural. This collaboration demonstrates Hakim’s ability to reimagine everyday objects by elevating their decorative potential without sacrificing functionality. The ashtrays are a stunning addition to any interior and are sure to spark conversation. She has also produced a series of cocktail accessories, such as the ‘Citrus’ charms and the ‘Chili’ cocktail pin.
