Community/Lebanon Impact

Alexandra Hakim is a British-Lebanese jewellery maker, celebrated for her innovative craftsmanship, thought-provoking designs, and genuine commitment to sustainability. Her pieces have gained a devoted international following and have been featured in fashion shoots for Vogue Italia and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, worn by global icons such as Rihanna, and showcased in leading magazines including Elle USA, Marie Claire Italia, and Madame Figaro.

Now based in Madrid, Hakim first discovered her passion for jewellery while completing an Art Foundation at Central Saint Martins in London. She went on to earn a BFA in Jewellery and Metalsmithing from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, where she specialized in design innovation and developed her distinctive creative process.

In 2016, she launched her eponymous brand in Beirut, Lebanon, quickly making an impact on the jewellery scene. She earned recognition and respect within the traditionally male-dominated world of craftsmen and goldsmiths, thanks to her technical mastery and inspired methods.

Through BEIT, Hakim has expanded into product design, creating a series of artisan ashtrays that are both sculptural and functional. This collaboration highlights her ability to reimagine everyday objects by elevating their decorative potential without compromising usability. She has also designed a series of cocktail accessories, including the Citrus charms and the Chili cocktail pin, further demonstrating her flair for blending artistry with utility.
