May Makhzoumi

Makhzoumi Foundation, under my leadership has reached over 650K  of people across the country over 25 years. By empowering them through skills to progress at work, through economy by providing Microcredit and guidance on how to run businesses, through healthcare by advocating preventive methods, campaigns and clinic services, through development and environment program, raising  awareness on alternative energy, waste management, providing solutions, as well as working with municipalities and schools , as well as workshops to learn new skills, through the relief unit that deals with most vulnerable communities. I was the only one Lebanese participating in 2014 UNESCO World Conference on ESD where the 17 SDGs were announced. I sat for 5 years on Jury for the Jap ESD/SDG  Prize, and I won the UNESCO and Global Hope Award in the US, only Lebanese. Being member of BOT at LAU and Makassed contributes to education, and being member of NCLW gives me a chance to contribute to national plans that enhances women rights in Lebanon.
