Lulu Baassiri
Personal information
Community/Lebanon Impact
Experienced Artist and Creative Director with over decades of related-work experience in exhibition design and curating, art education, advertising, print media, and art therapy. Lulu Baasiri's art touches on the ephemeral, the hyperreal, and the experience of a fleeting moment.
In terms of her teaching, her approach follows a rather motivational, encouraging, and unconventional style that promotes perception and taste while building technical artistic skills and supporting her students and apprentices. For nearly 20 years, she conducted art workshops for people of all ages from her studio, Atelier Lulu Baassiri, in the heart of Beirut. She also continued to teach at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for 12 years.
Other than being a full-time artist and an art teacher, she worked in press media for years.
Lately, she's been exploring the role of healing and holistic medicine and its relationships to self-expression, release, and creativity. In her capacity as a health counsellor, she am committed to uplifting and strengthening people's experiences with the aesthetic and with cultural artefacts.
