Experienced Artist and Creative Director with over decades of related-work experience in exhibition design and curating, art education, advertising, print media, and art therapy. My art touches on the ephemeral, the hyperreal, and the experience of a fleeting moment.
In terms of my teaching, my approach follows a rather motivational, encouraging, and unconventional style that promotes perception and taste while building technical artistic skills and supporting my students and apprentices. For nearly 20 years, I have conducted art workshops for people of all ages from my studio, Atelier Lulu Baassiri, in the heart of Beirut. I also continued to teach at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for 12 years.
Other than being a full-time artist and an art teacher, I have worked in press media for years.
Lately, I've been exploring the role of healing and wholistic medicine and its relationships to self-expression, release, and creativity. In my capacity as a health counsellor, I am committed to uplifting and strengthening people's experiences with the aesthetic and with cultural artefacts.
