Community/Lebanon Impact

She has given her all to Lebanon, taking on the responsibility of protecting its people and land. As an academician with a PhD from the University of Toronto, she represented Lebanon abroad, particularly in Canada, where she upheld its image with pride. After a decade, she brought her three children back to Lebanon, choosing to have them study at the American University of Beirut to contribute to the nation's rebuilding efforts. She succeeded as a university lecturer at Haigazian University and AUB, made her mark as a Lebanese writer in the Arab world, and contributed significantly as a researcher in the Lebanese Association of Women Researchers.

In the public sector, she has been active for years in spreading the culture of peace and amicability among the Lebanese, notably through "The Path of Mary." She served as the director of a Book Club at the WAKE Cultural Centre in Beirut for five years. Her efforts to improve her community included successfully lobbying the Beirut municipality in 2010 to rehabilitate a public staircase in her neighborhood, addressing a pollution issue and easing traffic in the public space. Though she did not win, she ran for the 2016 Municipality Election and the 2018 Parliamentary Election, representing Lebanese women in politics with distinction and dignity.
