Community/Lebanon Impact

She believes that what she has done for Lebanon was the right thing to do, even though it may not have borne fruit yet. For over 15 years, she has fought in various fields as a civil society volunteer and women's rights advocate, promoting, defending, and enforcing the rights and liberties of all Lebanese to work and live in freedom and dignity, thus empowering them to build a better, more prosperous Lebanon.

As the first female presidential candidate, she contributed to breaking taboos and fears and changing the stereotype of the Lebanese woman from a victim to a fully competent and capable partner in political decision-making. This bold move was undoubtedly a stepping stone for many Lebanese women to challenge and overcome the obstacles to their active participation in public life and in building a better future for all.
