Community/Lebanon Impact
Throughout her involvement with various societies, Leila Jiryes Ghantous worked toward the fundamental goal of promoting the image of Lebanon, highlighting its positive attributes and, most importantly, the vitality and resourcefulness of the Lebanese people in cultural and educational exchanges both at home and abroad. In this context, she collaborated with colleagues to organize trips and exploratory visits to different parts of the country. She was also committed to inviting prominent personalities from Lebanon and abroad to speak to members of these societies and to showcase initiatives serving Lebanon. She recalls with honor that the First Lady of Lebanon chaired the final annual celebration of the “Women’s League” at the American University of Beirut, which was also attended by numerous foreign ambassadors to Lebanon.
