Marina El Khawand is the Founder and President of Medonations NGO in Lebanon and France, the Founder of CuraLoop Innovation, a HIMSS24 Changemaker in Health Award winner, Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Young Activists Summit Laureate 2025, L’Oréal Paris Woman of Worth Award and Diana Award recipient. She is committed to providing free, equal, and equitable medical assistance to underserved communities, with a mission to transform global health access. Her journey began at 18, in the wake of the Beirut explosion, when she launched Medonations to address Lebanon’s dire medication shortages. What started as a personal response to a national crisis has evolved into a global NGO, showcasing Marina’s visionary leadership and resilience.Rooted in her Lebanese upbringing, Marina's humanitarian dedication was nurtured early through active participation in social service initiatives. These experiences, alongside her determination, shaped her into the humanitarian and trainee lawyer she is today at 24. Her passion now extends into her pharmacy studies, further reinforcing her commitment to advancing healthcare solutions. In 2022, Marina spearheaded the construction of Medonations’ Free HealthTech Clinic in Beirut, to launch it officially in 2025, marking a milestone in accessible healthcare innovation. In 2023, her impact transcended borders with the establishment of Medonations France and its first European headquarters, solidifying international support for Lebanon. Medonations has achieved extraordinary results: saving over 20,000 lives, covering the costs of more than 110 surgeries, and establishing 65+ international medical collection points across 65 countries, led by a global youth network. Marina’s efforts also extend to education and sustainable development, exemplified by initiatives like providing laptops to students and introducing solar panel backpacks. Marina’s guiding belief “Anyone, anywhere, and at any stage of life has the potential to become a lifesaver, a changemaker, and a hope creator” fuels her tireless pursuit of equal health rights and global impact. Her work continues to inspire, innovate, and transform lives across the world.
