Community Involvement
Dr. Joy Elian El Hayek is a Lebanese dentist and academic whose work focuses on pediatric dentistry, digital dentistry, and the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare. She has led multiple community-oriented oral-health programs, particularly for children with special needs, including annual outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Lebanese Down Syndrome Association and university rehabilitation departments. In 2023, she was awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” Prize as the top woman scientist in the Levant region for her pioneering impact in pediatric digital dentistry. Her initiatives aim to improve access to care, modernize dental education in Lebanon, and empower the next generation of clinicians through innovation, research, and technology.
