What I have done for Lebanon

With a clear vision, integrity and well-defined mission, Ghida Anani works effortlessly with ABAAD to promote gender equality in Lebanon and protect women and girls during times of peace, war and disasters. She leads a dynamic team comprising of more than 138 women and men human activists, lawyers, consultants, social workers and researchers, dedicated towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment. Anani advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation and courageously tests new approaches in her efforts to achieve an equitable society, free of hegemonic masculinities and violence against women.

  • Awarded the “WOMEN LEADERSHIP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” by The World Women Leadership Congress & Awards for Outstanding Women Professionals / Leaders who have the vision, flair, acumen and professionalism to demonstrate excellent leadership and managing skills in an organization, making changes and achieving results”, 2014.
  • As an organization, ABAAD, obtained the WOMANITY Award for innovative approaches to end Gender Based Violence, June 2014.
  • Received the "Excellence in Collaborative Teaching Award" from the American University of Beirut, 2008.
